Girls Basketball: Mercy advances to semis with dominating win over Menlo

Mercy High School advanced to the semifinal round of the West Bay Athletic League playoffs with a dominating 74-34 win over Menlo High School of Atherton on Thursday.

Mercy (19-6, 4-6) opened up a 27-5 first-quarter lead behind 17 first-quarter points from sophomore guard Mariah Masoli.

Masoli finished with a game-high 22 points.

The Skippers didn’t allow a Menlo (15-13, 3-7) player to score in double-figures.

With the win, Mercy advances to play top-seeded Pinewood (19-5, 9-1) in the semifinals at King’s Academy in Sunnyvale on Friday at 5 p.m.
