The Eagles were led by Dane Guchte who went 2-for-3 and scored three runs.

“We just put the ball in play, and we’re going to take advantage of some errors,” said Washington Head Coach Rob Fung. “I think that [the errors were] the difference right there.”

The Mustangs scored three runs in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 12-6, but the runs were too little and too late.

“We just couldn’t throw strikes,” said Mustangs Head Coach Eric Calloway. “There were little errors here and there, but there were other things too. The pitching wasn’t there, and there were some misjudgments in the outfield.”

Washington pitcher Jumaane Bowdry threw a complete game to get the win, striking out eight batters and walking only one. The Mustang batters went down in order in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.
