Baseball: AAA playoff matchups released, Washington and Lincoln will have play-in game

Capping a crazy final week of the AAA baseball regular season, the playoff matchups were released today.

Balboa, Lincoln and Washington finished in a tie for third place in the A Division and a drawing for the third spot was taken this morning. Balboa (9-5) won the draw and will take the A Division’s third seed, while Washington (9-5) and Lincoln (9-5) will have a play-in game on Monday to decide the fourth and final playoff spot.

Lowell (13-1) and Galileo (10-4), as the top two seeds in the A Division, will have first round byes.

In the B Division, Wallenberg (10-5) clinched first place with a 10-0 intradivision record. It is the first playoff birth for the Bulldogs in school history.

Marshall is the final team in the playoffs from the B Division with a 6-9 league record.

Monday, May 3
Play-in game: Lincoln (9-5) vs. Washington (9-5) @ Big Rec, 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday. May 4
GAME 1: (B2) Marshall (6-9) vs. (A3) Balboa (9-5) @ Big Rec, 3:30 p.m.
GAME 2: (B1) Wallenberg (10-5) vs. Lincoln-Washington winner @ Big Rec, 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 6
(A2) Galileo (10-4) vs. GAME 1 winner @ Big Rec, 3:30 p.m.
(A1) Lowell (13-1) vs. GAME 2 winner @ Big Rec, 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 13
AAA Championship Game @ AT&T Park, 4 p.m.
