Girls Golf: St. Ignatius wins third-consecutive WCAL tournament championship

After completing an undefeated league season in round-robin play, St. Ignatius (12-0) won its third-consecutive West Catholic Athletic League tournament championship on Monday at Poplar Creek Golf Course in San Mateo.

The Wildcats finished with a team score of 425, eight strokes ahead of second-place finisher St. Francis.

Presentation’s Mariko Tumangan took the individual title with a 1-over 71, but three St. Ignatius golfers finished in the top five, led by Alexandra Wong, who shot a 10-over 80. Andrea Wong and Pascal Schoshinski finished tied for fifth, shooting 83.

Up next for the Wildcats is the CIF-Central Coast Section Championships on Tuesday at Rancho Canada Country Club in Carmel.

  2. The key word there is “tournament championship.” It is SI’s third consecutive tournament championship. Presentation won the WCAL tournament in 2007.
