The 2009 Bay Counties League Central MVP had quite a performance in the Urban Holiday Shootout this past weekend at Kezar Stadium, leading Bay to an unlikely run to the championship game.

MacLeod started off with 33 points in a 52-50 win over host Urban on Thursday, then had 25 points in an upset win over Mercy in the second round on Friday. She was held to just six points in the championship game against Branson, but she shared the team lead with fellow senior Clara Cardillo.

Porter has had 14 points or more in five of the Bears’ last six games, including their two games against University and Stuart Hall last week, where he had 18 and 19 points, respectively.

He has also been a spark on defense, where he had a season-high seven steals against University and six steals against Stuart Hall.

Kishan Jay, senior guard, Lick-Wilmerding boys basketball

Even though the Tigers struggled at times in the Otis Spunkmeyer Invitational at Piedmont High School last week, Jay averaged 17.7 points per game in the tournament and is averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game for Lick on the season.
