Player of the Week: Theoatis Hill

Every Monday, we will be selecting a player of the week who shows extraordinary effort and performance on the field or court in the prior week. We will be taking nominations from coaches, athletic directors and fans. Please send potential players of the week to Player of the Week: Theoatis Hill, junior forward, Marshall boys basketball

Hill, in so many statistical categories, has had an outstanding year — Over 23 points per game, almost 15 rebounds per, 2.2 steals, two blocks — but in the Phoenix’s Academic Athletic Association opener against Balboa last week, he may have put together the City’s best individual performance this season.

Hill had a staggering 40 points, 20 rebounds and seven blocks in the 69-64 win over the Bucs on Wednesday.

The game against Balboa was undoubtedly his best all season, but he has put up impressive numbers throughout, including a double-double in every game this year.

Hill followed the breakout performance with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 74-62 loss to Mission on Friday.
