Columbia-bound senior guard Noah Springwater has garnered most of the attention (from the media and opposing teams) this season for the University boys basketball team, but it’s hard to imagine the Red Devils in their current position without the play of Enriquez.

This week, he may have played some of his best basketball, scoring 23 points against Liberty Christian and 26 points against Pinewood, both team highs at the most important time of the season.

Honorable mention: Maria Maria Kemiji-McDonald, junior forward, St. Ignatius girls basketball

Arguably the best player in the City this year, Kemiji-McDonald led the Wildcats in scoring in both of their CIF state tournament games.

She scored 30 on the road against fourth-seeded Paradise, then was the only Wildcat to score in double figures with 15 points against top-seeded Bishop O’Dowd.
