By Jeremy Balan Player of the Week: Leah Sherman, senior midfielder, Lick-Wilmerding girls lacrosse

The senior captain has had quite a season, and had another standout week.

In three Marin County Athletic League games last week, Sherman had 17 total goals, increasing her season total to a staggering 91 goals in just 15 games.

With two more games against Sonoma Academy and Tamalpais left in the final week of the season, she could reach the remarkable feat of 100 goals in the season.

Honorable mention: Dominic Defiesta, senior infielder, Sacred Heart Cathedral baseball

The Irish put up 34 runs in four games last week, and a lot of that had to do with the production of Defiesta, who leads the team with a .443 batting average and has hit safely in 20 of Sacred Heart’s 25 games.

Defiesta went 10-for-17 last week with five RBIs and four runs scored.

Honorable mention: Steven Zhuo, senior infielder, Mission baseball

The senior captain had his best week of the season with two three-hit performances against Jordan.

In the Jordan series, Zhuo went 6-for-6 with four RBIs, raising his average to .488 and his season RBI total to a team-high 14.
