Boys Soccer: International 3, St. Vincent de Paul 1
After falling behind 1-0, International (2-2) got two goals from senior Kai Leshne and added another from Lucas Harrell in the come-from-behind win over the Mustangs (0-2) on Thursday. Harrell also had an assist on Leshne’s final goal to push the score to 3-1 in the second half.
Girls Volleyball: Jewish Community 3, Gateway 0
Things are looking up for the Wolves (1-0) who swept Gateway (0-1) 25-20, 25-18, 25-9 on Thursday. Senior co-captain Florencia Hasson led the way with a team-high 10 kills and two blocks, while Paige Lerman and Brooke Rosell added six kills apiece.
Boys Soccer: Lowell 3, Jordan 2
Lowell’s Cameron BaSaing had another impressive performance with two goals and teammate Max Pollard also scored, as the Cardinals (2-0) took a 3-2 lead into the half and held off Jordan (0-2) through the second frame.
Girls Tennis: Redwood 10, University 1
It was a rough day University (1-1), but the doubles team of Jackie Langelier and Katherine Duff took home the only Red Devils’ win of the match.
Boys Soccer: Burton 2, Galileo 2
Galileo (0-1-1) got a goal on a penalty kick by Luis Ortiz and a goal from Giovanni Sampedro to take a 2-1 lead, but Burton (0-1-1) scored with just 10 minutes remaining to equalize.
Boys Soccer: Balboa 5, Marshall 0
Balboa (3-0) continued its roll through the AAA with a dominating win over the Phoenix (0-3). Mario Leyva scored two goals, while Eduardo Herrera, Erick Rubio-Arriola and Nathan Tom tallied one goal apiece.
