Football: SanFranPreps.com Week 1 Pick ’em

Every week, members of the SanFranPreps.com staff, other local media members and one of our commenters will make predictions on the weekend’s games featuring our local San Francisco teams. Please feel free to make your own picks in the comment section and discuss the week’s games.

After a dismal non-league performance last season from the Academic Athletic Association, many of our pickers went against the City teams.

That was a mistake.

Compared to last season, Week 0 was a sparkling success for the AAA and the City in general. Mission stunned Tomales, Galileo looked solid, Balboa and Marshall edged East Bay opponents, Riordan showed signs of improvement, St. Ignatius controlled Marin Catholic for three quarters, Sacred Heart Cathedral beat one of the best teams on the Peninsula, and Stuart Hall dominated Woodside Priory.

Not too shabby, but Week 1 presents new challenges.

IC Stars did the commenters proud and has taken the lead in the opening week of our competition. We’ll see if our next guest picker, ARHS Stats, can keep it up.

Remember, if you would like to participate as a commenter participant, please send editor Jeremy Balan an e-mail at jbalan@SanFranPreps.com to make your case.

  1. IC Stars says:

Why all the close score predictions for SHC vs. St. Mary’s? Justin-Siena dropped a 60 spot on them last week. They’re small but they have some speed. They’ll need it chasing Tino Miles around.

  2. Sag mode says:

Will you be covering the wash game?

  3. Paul B. says:

I wonder if anyone is going to cover today’s game @ Lincoln High?
