Boys Water Polo: St. Ignatius 16, Serra 15

The Wildcats (10-10, 1-4) haven’t exactly set the West Catholic Athletic League on fire this season, but got their first league win on Wednesday and also settled an 11-year score.

Behind a team-high six goals from sophomore Reilley May, St. Ignatius beat the visiting Padres (8-9, 2-3) for the first time since 2000.

Senior Eric White had four goals, and seniors Evan Muscat and Brendan Collins added two apiece. Serra senior Paul Smallman had a game-high seven goals.

Girls Volleyball: Lick-Wilmerding 3, Urban 2

After winning the first two games, the Blues rallied back to force a deciding fifth, but the Tigers prevailed in a 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 18-25, 15-13 Bay Counties League West win.

Junior middle blocker Annie Wilson led the Lick offense with 12 kills and senior Katie Waters did her part defensively with 11 digs.
