Boys Soccer: Marshall 2, Washington 2

The Phoenix (1-11-1) haven’t had much to cheer about this season, but they made an impact on the Academic Athletic Association playoff race on Tuesday.

With Washington (8-3-3) needing every possible point to keep pace with Balboa for the final playoff spot in the X Division, the Phoenix appeared to be an easy three points, but Marshall’s Lucio Alfaro-Arce and Christopher Encizo had other ideas.

The pair scored a goal apiece to counter two goals from Washington’s Jeffrey Mejia and limited the Eagles to just one point with the tie.

Girls Volleyball: Jewish Community 3, East Palo Alto 1

The Wolves (12-3, 10-0) continued their undefeated trek through the Private School Athletic League’s Bay Division with a 25-13, 25-15, 20-25, 25-19 win over the Bulldogs.

Jewish Community got three key kills from junior Estefany Martinez off the bench and 21 assists from sophomore setter Elana Fogel in the win.

Boys Soccer: SFI 1, ISA 0

The Huskies (8-3-3) pulled into a third place tie with Washington in the AAA’s X Division, on the a lone goal from Vihn Bui, who scored on an assist from Rogelio Belloso.

Experiencing their third shutout of the season, the Cobras (6-7-1) dropped further out of playoff position.

Girls Tennis: University 4, Marin Academy 1

The Red Devils improved to 7-0 in Bay Counties League West play on the strength of singles wins from Katrina Allick (6-1, 6-1) and Lydia Lee (6-3, 6-4), along with doubles wins from the teams of Molly Feldstein and Jenny Bloomquist (6-4, 6-2), and Berit Danis and Olga Baranoff (1-6, 7-5, 10-7).
