Girls Basketball: University 45, Galileo 37

The Red Devils (2-1) dropped the first game of the Lady Mustangs Holiday Classic this week, but finished with two quality wins against solid Academic Athletic Association squads.

In the final win, for the consolation championship against the Lions (3-2), University again turned to senior center Amelia King.

King wrapped up a standout tournament with 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 10 rebounds and two blocks. It was her third consecutive 20-point performance and double-double.

Boys Basketball: Mission 56, Drake 55

Mission junior Kevin Murray made a layup with 7 seconds remaining to put the Bears (2-1) up late in the Crusader Classic’s third-place game. Seconds before, Drake’s Joey Euphrat hit a 3-pointer to give the Pirates (1-2) a short-lived lead.

Senior forward Miles Prescott led the Bears with 16 points and nine rebounds, while three other Mission players scored in double figures.

Gione Edwards scored 12 points, Murray added 11 and Shaquille Fisher tallied 10.

Boys Basketball: San Ramon Valley 48, Riordan 47

Junior guard Geru Mabrey scored 18 points, but the Crusaders (1-2) could not rally back from an early fourth-quarter San Ramon Valley (2-1) lead in the Crusader Classic consolation championship game.

You might want to be more clear in the names of the player’s you mention.

If you are asking why Antoine Porter is not mentioned, than the answer is he did not play well and/or the Sir Francis Drake defense took him out of the game.

But I did not see any special defense being played by Drake on Porter, just straight up man to man defense.

The first two games of the tournament, Porter played close to the entire game. Against Drake, he may have spent over 1/4 of the game on the bench.
