Wrestling: Golden Gate Invitational

Washington and Riordan split second place out of a 39-team field in the Golden Gate Invitational on Saturday at Washington High School.

The Crusaders, ranked 12th in the Central Coast Section, were led by junior Zac Contreras (152 lbs.), who won all four of his matches and senior Julian Morrisette (182 lbs.) won three of four matches.

Riordan seniors Issam Hamdallah (160 lbs.), Deion Deng (220 lbs.) and Brandon Jew (106 lbs.) also won medals in the consolation brackets.

Girls Basketball: Washington 53, Mountain View 47

The Eagles (4-1) wrapped up the Terra Nova Tournament with a solid win over the Spartans (3-3), behind 14 points and six assists from senior guard Raelyn Cheung-Sutton, and 10 points and 13 rebounds from forward Phacharee Arunleung.

Boys Basketball: International 35, Athenian 30

The Jaguars’ defense (2-2) showed up in full effect on Tuesday against the Owls (4-4), but got their offense almost entirely from forwards Jacob Bogdanov and Alex Seutin.

Bogdanov, a senior, had a team-high 11 points, while Seutin, a sophomore, added 10.

Boys Basketball: St. Joseph Notre Dame 66, University 45

University (4-3) wrapped up a rough week with a loss to the Pilots (4-0), but the Red Devils actually led 27-23 at the half and only trailed by four at one point in the fourth quarter.

Junior guard James Burton had a team-high 17 points in the loss.

Nice job on including this on SFPreps. I hope we will be able to see articles on a regular basis. Will you be posting the complete results or even had SF schools performed. Again, great job on including this there are a lot of fans out there who would like to see this sport get some coverage. Fantastic!

    • The Coaches of the other Wrestling teams need to send their team’s results from Tournaments and Dual Matches into Prep WrapUp.

It would have been nice if Washington send some information on how their Wrestler finished in the Tournament.

      • You bring up a good point. It gets annoying when people complain about certain sports or sporting events not getting covered by SanFranPreps and begin to blame JB and his staff WHEN in actuality it’s the coaches that do not send in the information that is asked of them.

SanFranPreps has a section where coaches can send in the results from their sporting event(s), but many times, seemingly, they do not. Then what happens? People begin to complain because certain events weren’t covered. A good example of this was when somone had an issue that the All-City Cross Country event for the AAA wasn’t covered.

The point is, blame the coaches for not sending in the information that is asked of them.

Feel the Pain: This is obviously not directed towards you because you actually gave SanFranPreps credit and thanked them instead of complaining like some others in the past have done. So please do not think this is directed towards you. ARHS Stats just brought up a good point that needed to be addressed.
