The Dragons (9-1) continued their hot non-league start with a close win over the Gryphons (2-5) on Tuesday at Booker T. Washington Community Center.

Drew built a nine-point lead at the half and withstood a late Crystal Springs run by hitting 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the game.

Senior Marisa Hedgpeth (10 points, 10 rebounds) and junior Neff Rogers (10 points, 15 rebounds) both had double-doubles in the win.

Boys Basketball: Alma Heights 56, Jewish Community 53 (OT)

After a fast start to the season, the Wolves (6-4, 1-2) have lost three of their last four games, most painfully, an overtime loss to the Eagles (6-4, 1-0) in Private School Athletic League North play on Tuesday.

Jewish Community got a near triple-double from senior point guard Grant Fineman, who had 21 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, while junior forward Anthony Gumberg had a standout game inside with 13 points and 22 rebounds.
