Boys Basketball: Mission 85, Marshall 66
The Bears (8-7, 1-0) only led 17-15 after the first quarter and 40-36 at the half, but pulled away steadily in the second half to secure their first Academic Athletic Association win.
Senior guard Shaquille Fisher led the way with 23 points and seven rebounds, while fellow forwards Miles Prescott (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Gione Edwards (14 points, 10 rebounds) both finished with double-doubles.
Marshall was led by 6-foot-6 forward Mark Alexander, who had a team-high 21 points.
Girls Basketball: University 49, Athenian 28
The Red Devils (11-1) extended their win streak to 11 games behind senior center Amelia King’s eighth 20-point game of the season.
King had a game-high 22 points and freshman Katie Lo added 10 points, as University outscored the Owls (4-7) 17-3 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Girls Basketball: Summit Prep 50, Jewish Community 29
The Wolves (3-7, 1-3) dropped their forth-consecutive game in a loss to the Huskies (3-3, 1-2), but got solid performances from sophomore Shayla Goldlist, who scored a team-high 14 points, and senior Devon Spitzer, who collected 12 rebounds
