Washington’s wrestling team traveled to southern california for the 5 Counties Tournament at Fountain Valley H.S., that’s going on today and tommorrow. Some of the state’s elite wrestlers are entered including a few defending state champions and numerous state medalists from last year. Coach Lockett upgrading their schedule to get them ready for March is great to see. The experience of competing in a prestigious socal tournament, like 5 Counties, is invaluable and will only help them later in the season. Good luck to the Eagles as you represent SF!

  2. Jeremy Balan, help translate these new CCS playoff formats?

From what I read, there will be an OPEN DIVISION comprised of the top 4 WCAL teams, and 4 other League winners. So from what it looks like, the open division this year will be Mitty, SH, Bellarmine and Serra and 4 other schmoes that have no chance. Errrr wait, I take that back. Palo Alto is the exception.

So what happens to the other teams not part of open division, like SI and Riordan? Then what happens after CCS, does Nor Cals have the same format? Say SH losses in the 1st round of CCS, is that it? they’re not good enough for Nor Cals?

Bless us with your wisdom JB.

  3. Congrats Mercy 61-32! Nice teamwork ! We are proud of you!

Mercy 61 SHP 31 Great job ladies!

  5. good jog marshall and lincoln.
can’t wait for these two teams to meet again

  6. Galileo boys- 54

  7. the triple A is one weird league… all the teams seem pretty even in the Lang division

  8. Marshall is really looking good with a 5man rotation. If they find away to not turn over the ball they will have a shot at the AAA title hands down. Marshall is one the most athletic teams in the AAA. They can play defenses, jump, rebound, score, and turn the ball over lol but their one of the best teams Marshall has had in a long time with 7players total. Stay focus Marshall.

  9. I’m happy that our scouting reports helped Lincoln’s coach beat Marshall.

From what i heard, washington played a great game against mission all the way to the buzzer. with only some key mistakes at the end to give mission the lead. once washington can cut those down, they can be a real threat in the playoffs. keep an eye out for them.

  11. Nice win by Mission. Although Washington is a shell of their team from last year’s championship squad.

  12. Good job Burton, even though you lost. Just make sure to beat Gal the second time around. Looks like it will be Burton and Gal fighting for second place in the Neff (right now Gal is in second place). C’mon, Burton, let’s get those wins so we can host a playoff game for the first time since the 2003-2004 season.

  13. I was at the Burton vs. Galileo game and Japhet (#23) made an amazing buzzer beater 1.3 seconds before half-time. Amazing.

  14. From Fri. 1/13:

    PSAL North boys basketball
Alma Heights (Pacifica) 61, San Francisco Christian 35

  15. Wow! The game between SI girls and St Francis girl was close. I thought their height for sure would dominate.
