Girls Basketball: Mercy 80, Notre Dame-San Jose 52

The Skippers (17-0, 3-0) remained undefeated and reinforced their spot atop the West Bay Athletic League’s Foothill Division with rout on the road against the Regents (7-10, 0-3) and there was no doubt who was the best player on the floor.

Mercy senior guard Mariah Masoli had a season-high 31 points on 13-of-15 shooting (8-of-8 on 2-pointers and 5-of-7 on 3s), and added six steals, four assists and a block in the win.

The Skippers shot 64 percent from the floor as a team and also got double-digit scoring performances from senior guard Nicole Hernandez (11 points) and junior guard Christina Haight (10 points).

  1. I don’t know how they will do against Pinewood (Los Altos Hills) tomorrow night because it might be a low scoring defensive battle in that one.

    • Mercy (SF) that is.

      • I don’t see it as much of a battle, PW is down this year as we all know. They have 5 freshmen and 3 sophmores on the varsity. Thus they are off to an 0-3 start in league play. If PW wins i would have to say that would be upset @ this point.

  2. Great win for Mercy. I still want to see them play a team that’s actually good!

  3. Great job Mercy keep it alive!
