Senior point guard Monique Mariano also had 10 points for the Skippers, as Mercy opened up a 18-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Mercy defense didn’t allow more than 10 points in any quarter and combined for 13 steals and six blocks.
Girls Basketball: Jewish Community 36, Liberty Baptist 10
The Wolves (6-12, 4-8) have had some rough patches this season, but have been surging as of late, culminating with a blowout win over the Eagles (2-10, 2-8) on senior night.
Jewish Community senior guard Sophie Navarro had a game-high 16 points and junior Neena Carr scored eight points off the bench in the win.
