Girls Basketball Mercy 52, Eastside Prep 48 OT

The Skippers (23-1, 9-1) trailed the Panthers (12-12, 5-5) 36-24 heading into the fourth quarter, but rallied back and did it without standout senior guard Mariah Masoli.

Masoli fouled out midway through the third quarter and was held to just eight points, and senior forward Courtney Sabahi had nine points, marking just the second time both players were held under 10 points in a game this season.

Junior guard Christina Haight picked up the slack with a team-high 16 points (her highest point total in West Bay Athletic League play) and seven rebounds.

Boys Basketball: Urban 56, Stuart Hall 48

The Blues (15-9, 7-3) sealed the second seed in the Bay Counties League West playoffs with a wire-to-wire win over the Knights (18-8, 5-5), who will carry the fourth seed into the postseason.

Urban opened up a 15-4 lead after the first quarter and led the rest of the way behind 22 points, six rebounds and four assists from junior guard Nate Cohen, and 19 points from junior shooting guard Matthew Monges.
