  1. Lone FREE pick of the Day: Washington Eagles Softball -1.5. I think the Eagles power will be too much for SHC’s pitching staff to handle. Good luck to both teams.

  2. Washington’s softball team are NOT defending AAA champions, Lowell mercy ruled them in the championship game last season; please get your facts straight.

    • You are correct. I meant to reference that they finished in first place in the regular season. It is corrected.

    • Please do not write in all caps. Please check the code of conduct! The AAA softball season whould be a great one this year. Good luck to all schools.

  3. Looks like we’re going to have to cancel our game coverage today. Our reporter working the game got food poisoning and I’m working on three other non-game stories today. It’s unfortunate, but hopefully he gets better for the basketball playoff games this weekend.

  4. Of course, CCS updates all their divisions except the Division I’m most interested, which is D3 boys.

    • What games are you looking for?

    • SI plays Aptos at 6:15 PM

El Camino plays Santa Cruz at 4:30 PM

SHC plays Burlingame at 2:45 PM

VC plays Mills at 1:00 PM

      • Thanks, I just wanted to know the score of the Burlingame, Santa Cruz, and Aptos games. It looks like all 3 won.

        • Aptos 51 San Mateo 36
          Santa Cruz 55 Saratoga 46
          Mills 65 Terra Nova 51
          Burlingame 62 Monterey 51

Burlingame should have been seeded #5, not #9

          • Monterey was ranked too high. They should’ve faced Aptos instead, so the drive wouldn’t be too far for both teams. Monterey must’ve had a very weak league because they went undefeated in league play, and they practically won every league game by 20+. Burlingame will give SHC a good game, but I think SHC will come out on top. Not really sure if Josh Fox will suit up, though.

            • I suspect SHC will attempt to hold him out as much as possible. Just like Mitty did with Gooden while battling mono.

              Baseball,
I believe SI baseball beat Cap 9-2. 4-2 until late then opened it up.
Riordan 2-0. Gallegoes and staff already making a difference.
SHC by 31? I dont know where to begin.

            • Monterey was seeded about where they should have been.

Monterey easily won the MBAL Championship and won a lot of games playing teams in the Monterey and Salinas Areas.

Monterey had not played a close game, since December 17th, and had not played any of the better teams, since December also.

Monterey lost to Valley Christian and to the Sac-Joaquin’s Antelope in early December.

  5. Does omeone have the box score for the SHC-Jefferson baseball game? Also is there a mercy rule in high school?

    • Mickey Blue Eyes | February 24, 2012 at 12:26 PM |

@ARI There is a Mercy rule for baseball however each league can opt out. I know the WCAL does use it, but I am not sure if the PAL uses the Mercy rule or not. Many leagues were given teh option to opt out of the Mercy Rule and have because teh coaches feel tehy can not get enough playing time for the players in five innings.

      • To say this game was a mismatch is an understatement. 31-0 and 2 Irish pitchers combined for a Perfect Game also. I think Ive had a few of these games while playing Playstation. The best game ever was I created myself as a pitcher. I threw a perfect game with 23 K’s and went 6-6, hit for the cycle and stole 5 bases.

  6. How come you do not post the golf matches?
