Sacred Heart Cathedral beat Serra in baseball? That doesn’t happen very often.

  3. SIbaseballfan says:

SI beat Mitty 4-0. Bruce Mahoney game between SI and SH tomorrow at ATT has been cancelled due to expected storm. Booooo.

    • IC Stars says:

I wonder how Mitty feels losing to two City teams in a row and Serra getting knocked-off by the Irish today.

I just read on SHC’s Facebook page that Saturday’s game vs. SI at AT&T Park is postponed.

    • SIbaseballfan says:

It will be played but not at ATT.

      • JJ says:

Super Sunny where I live. Not a cloud in the sky. They shouldn’t have postponed that game so early. I had the game circled on my calendar. Now the game won’t be played at AT&T Park. Huge letdown.

I just tweeted something very similar. The weather forecast has been wrong all week.

          • WCAL Alum says:

I am sure they jumped the gun because last year they waited until game time (with everybody waiting in the stadium) and they probably didnt want that to happen again. And with the forecast calling for rain “all day” they probably didnt want to have egg on their face again.

The irony is it’s beautiful now. But this morning’s game would have played havoc with the field. Remember it was a two game event, so if the first was out, both would be. The money from the event isnt made from the college game, but from the SI/SHC game. The college game draws only 10% of SI/SHC game.

I have a very big feeling that the schools had nothing to do with the postponement but rather it came from the Giants themselves. Why ruin the field if it is raining so close to season opener? I mean if the field got torn up I know they would have two weeks to get it back to condition but the Giants were not going to risk that

            • JJ says:

I think the college game already started at 3 pm at AT&T Park. Why can’t the HS game also be played, like at 6pm?

  5. Crusader 88 says:

Nice to see the city WCAL teams take 2 of 3 against the south!

  6. mickey Blue Eyes says:

Maybe ARHS can help on this one: When if ever has Serra baseball lost to all three city teams in teh same season?
