Jbalan, Lowell girls’ commanding win today probably solidifies their spot as the best non-catholic team in the city, but how do you think they would stand up against SH or SI?

    • Didn’t International tie Lowell this year?

      • YES IHS tied lowell 0-0

From what I hear, the Lowell-IHS game was a bit of practice for both teams, I bet if they met again it would be much more a faceoff.

        • Bottom line: Lowell’s victory over University does not solidify them as the best non-catholic girls soccer team in the City. However, having seen Lowell, University, International and Urban this season, I would rank Lowell and Urban at the top. I don’t know how they would do against SI or SHP…

          • Excellent point. Score doesn’t always reflect the way the game is played, in order to determine the best team you would need to watch every competitor.

  2. Great game of the day jbalan. (sarcasm)

It was the best game on the schedule.

The only other game that might have given the soccer game some competition for game of the the day was the St. Ignatius vs. Valley Christian Golf Match, since St. Ignatius can win the WCAL Golf Round Robin Championship, if they win all their matches this week. St. Ignatius has 3 more matches to play this week.

None of the Baseball games should have been considered.

Now, on Wednesday and Thursday, the Washington vs. Lowell Baseball Games will probably have a real good chance to be the game of the day. On Thursday, the Softball Game between Lowell and Washington will also be considered for game of the day.

Tuesday’s game of the day may be the Riordan vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral Baseball Game, if there are no better games scheduled by the BCL or WBAL or other sports like Lacrosse or Volleyball have teams playing for playoff spots.

  3. Mission HS won 13-2 with Junior; Jessie Galvan on the mound racking up 11 strikeouts in 5 innings

  4. Why not the rematch of Last years AAA championship? Is that not cover worthy?

    • We actually couldn’t get out to that game today, because I was out of town and the reporter assigned today couldn’t work that early. The Lowell-University girls soccer game certainly deserved coverage as well, however.

  5. Touché jbalan

  6. Urban actually played SHP in a very low key scrimmage that was almost practice and beat them 1-0, so that may answer your question

    • Are you talking about Sacred Heart Cathedral or Sacred Heart Prep? Either way, both of those teams play in the winter, so I don’t know how they could play a scrimmage unless Urban played out of season.

      • That game was played between Urban and Sacred Heart Cathedral. Urban was still in preseason and I think SH had just finished their season
