Girls Soccer: Jewish Community 3, Emery 1
The Wolves (3-4-1), just in their second year of playing varsity soccer, ended their 2012 campaign with a win, behind a two-goal performance from sophomore Sophia Gluck. Playing in her last varsity event, senior Sophie Navarro scored the other Jewish Community goal, and junior Jordan Dong added an assist.
Baseball: Jewish Community 16, Mid-Peninsula 5
The Wolves (7-6, 7-5) won their third straight Private School Athletic League game scoring 16 or more runs and got a standout performances from a trio of seniors.
Second baseman David Edelman went 3-for-3 at the plate, had two RBIs and three stolen bases in the win, has gone 8-for-10 in games this week and has reached base in 14-of-15 plate appearances. Catcher Ariel Applbaum went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and four stolen bases. Third baseman Danny Robinow also had two hits.
Baseball: Serra 7, Riordan 0
The Crusaders (12-13, 2-11) were locked in a scoreless tie until the fourth inning, when the Padres (14-12, 7-6) put up six runs.
Serra starter Thomas Cox and the Padres bullpen held the Crusaders to just four hits and no Riordan player recorded more than one. Matt Melendez, Chris Edwards, James Cullinane and Anthony Ramirez recorded the Riordan hits.
