Boys Soccer: University 3, Roseland Prep 2

After a 1-0 shutout of Cardinal Newman in their opener last week, the Red Devils (2-0) had a stark contrast on the road against Roseland Prep on Tuesday.

Roseland opened the scoring with a goal in the second minute, but University rattled off three consecutive goals in the first half (by Josiah Corbus, Sam Reyes and Soloman Leaman) to take a commanding 3-1 lead at the half.

Roseland again opened the second half with a quick goal, but could not equalize. University goalkeeper Alexander Ederer had three saves to keep the Red Devils on top.

Girls Volleyball: Piedmont 3, Lick-Wilmerding 0

The Tigers (0-1) stuggled with the Highlanders’ block for much of the match, but senior middle blocker Annie Wilson led lick with 11 kills and senior setter Stacey Cheong ran a newly-installed offense well, tallying 19 assists.
