Girls Volleyball: Jewish Community 3, Mid-Peninsula (Menlo Park) 0
The two-time defending Bay Division champions of the Private School Athletic League are now in the restructured North Division, but still won their 27th straight regular-season league match in a row with a 25-14, 25-12, 28-18 win over the Dragons (0-1, 0-1).
The Wolves (4-2, 1-0) were led by junior Zoe Morgan-Weinman, who had five kills and two blocks, and senior Brooke Rosell, who added two kills and three aces.
Boys Soccer: Lincoln 2, O’Connell 1
The Mustangs (3-0-0, 2-0-0) haven’t put up the impressive scores other top Academic Athletic Association have, but are still undefeated and tied atop the league standings with Lowell.
After O’Connell’s (0-2-0, 0-2-0) Marvin Rodriguez tied the game at 1-1 in the 28th minute, Lincoln’s Dennis Chen put in the game-winner in the 51st. Lincoln’s Jose Tiznado opened the game’s scoring with a goal in the 19th minute.
Girls Golf: Balboa 234, Burton 250
The Bucs (2-0, 2-0) moved into a first-place tie with Lowell behind a pair of solid performances by Adelyn Chiang and Emily Trang. Chiang shot a team-low 43 and Trang shot a 44.
Boys Soccer: Burton 5, Marshall 1
The Pumas (1-1-0, 1-1-0) got their first win of the season behind a hat trick from Adam Mercado and two more goals from Angel Zamudio. Marshall’s (0-2-0, 0-2-0) only goal came from Kevin Soto.
