Boys Water Polo: St. Ignatius 22, Mitty (San Jose) 4

The Wildcats (4-2, 1-1) rode the play of senior Nicholas Sweeney McSweeney, who nearly doubled the Monarch’s (3-7, 0-2) score on his own with seven goals. Tony Baxter, Reilley May, Jeffrey Moon, Maximillian Schaum and Michael Vukasin all added two goals apiece, while Quentin Favia, Michael Mason, Bryce Molano and John Paul Naughton contributed solo goals.

Girls Volleyball: Jewish Community 3, San Francsico Christian 1

The Wolves (5-2, 2-0) captured their 28th straight regular-season Private School Athletic League win with a 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23 victory over their crosstown rivals. Jewish Community junior setter Elana Fogel doled out 33 assists and had 10 digs, and fellow junior Zoe Morgan-Weinman added six aces.

  1. For the SI boys water polo game, Nicholas McSweeney scored seven goals, not Nicholas Sweeney.
