Prep Wrapup: Balboa boys soccer stuns Lincoln to stay in AAA playoff race

Prep Wrapup is our feature where we will hopefully provide a broad overview of the previous day’s action. Coaches, to contribute to the Prep Wrapup, please send scores and details the night of the game/event to contact@sanfranpreps.com or call our scores line at (415) 251-0918.

Boys Soccer: Balboa 3, Lincoln 1

The Bucs (6-4-1, 6-4-1) could have been on the outside of the Academic Athletic Association playoff picture if everything went as expected against the Mustangs (9-3-3, 8-2-1), but with a 3-1 win are now in the driver’s seat. Balboa now only needs a win or tie against last-place Burton in their final game next week to seal a postseason spot. Rory Grant had the only goal of the game for Lincoln.

Boys Soccer: O’Connell 2, Marshall 1

The Boilermakers (5-7-0, 5-7-0) got goals from Jose Carmona and Cristian Ramirez to edge the Phoenix (1-10-0, 1-10-0), who got their only goal from Kevin Soto.

Boys Soccer: Drew 3, Pescadero 0

Winslow Perry, Santiago Martinez and Zak Bauke scored to give the Dragons (10-6-1, 7-2-1) the second seed in the upcoming Bay Counties League Central playoffs.
