Prep Wrapup: SHC’s football season ends with blowout loss to Bellarmine

Football: Bellarmine 42, Sacred Heart Cathedral 13

The Bells (9-1, 7-0) jumped out to a 28-0 lead at the half behind two touchdowns apiece from running back Kenneth Olugbode and quarterback K.J. Carta-Samuels (one passing, one rushing) to cruise to victory over the Irish (2-8, 1-6) and clinch their second straight West Catholic Athletic League title.

Senior linebacker Mike Wallace got the Irish on the board with an 80-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown midway through the third quarter and sophomore quarterback Logan White hit junior running back Brett Rasso for a 13-yard score in the fourth quarter to cap the Sacred Heart scoring.

Rasso was the main offensive threat for the Irish, with 66 yards rushing on 12 carries and two receptions.

  1. No that was a mercy blowout. It probably should have been 63-0 but Bellarmine room it easy on SH. Ok let’s start up basketball!!!!!

  2. Well the season was a tough one with the loss of Peralta and Hewittson. Glad to see Rasso, White , Sanders and the rest of the team fight to the end. Look forward to basketball and baseball seasons.
