  1. Does anyone know how the Lincoln girls hoops team choked by scoring a goose egg in the forth after being up 40-27 over Davis (Modesto) after 3 quarters?

    • Yeah – I saw the Twitter feed earlier in the day and didn’t understand how that happened. I know Coach Jason Lee of Lincoln. I may have to ask him.

  2. Tonight in the finals of the Lady Mustangs Holiday Classic @ Lincoln, Westmoor (Daly City) def. Rocky Mountain (Fort Collins, CO) 73-51. However, Sr. F Makayla Evans had to leave the game early after suffering a serious fall late first quarter I think.

  3. Crusader 88 | December 1, 2012 at 9:59 PM |

It appears that the Crusaders will be in mix this year. Congrats!

  4. Head girls basketball coach Kristina Lee of Wallenberg better recruit more players to her roster because she can’t have her starting five play the whole game & not rest @ all.

    • Poor Krystina, I pity the young lady. I talked to her on Friday and I know exactly why she’s got a limited roster. One reason is that her best player (a freshman) got hurt in the Lincoln tourney on Thursday. The other reasons are something she can share if she wants to. The fact they beat Mission with five players is pretty impressive. However, against the likes of Lowell, Lincoln and Washington, five players aren’t going to cut it.

Congrats to Westmoor on knocking off the Colorado team. I thought the Colorado team would win the tourney as they had some height and good players.

  5. congrats, to SHC girls basketball team winning 1st place n the Dougherty valley winter classic,LET”S GO IRISH!!!

  6. SI Girls basketball ranked #4, got spanked by the #3 team St Mary, Berkeley. Still early in the season, so it will take awhile for SI to create their identity, especially when all that senior leadership has left. The way SHC has been steamrolling their opponents, the SI-SHC games look to be very competitive this year. I pity the transfers who have to sit out the 1st month of the season due to the transfer rule. By the time they get into the lineup, it could ruin the chemistry.

    • SI girls varsity probably got a dose of D1 prospect Gabby Green from St. Mary’s. SI have 2 transfers are they both eligible to play after Dec 31st?
SI vs SHC girls varsity will be very very interesting. True, SHC girls are steamrolling their opponents but we will see how they do in WCAL games. It seems Coach Russell knows what he’s doing.

    • No pity needed. SI transfer students are already playing.

      • How can they play if they transferred? I thought a basketball transfer can’t play in a game until january 1?

      • Unless I misread the ruling or there is a loophole , transfer students are not eligible to play until Jan 1st. Or SI wants to forfeit their preseason games , could someone kindly explain this to us ! I understand too if there are
2 transfers 1 is eligible to play Jan 1st and the other one will be in a year. pls could clarify these ! Thanks!!

        • The 2 transfer stipulation is not mentioned in the new CCS Transfer guidlelines effective July 1, 2012. Jan 1st is the first day of eligibilty for Winter sports, provided the student(s) transferred before the first day of the school year.

        • Ruckjames, if the SI transfers were incoming sophomores, they could still transfer under the old 2011-12 transfer rule that allowed students one transfer without penalty to do so before the third semester of their high school unless there was evidence of undue influence. It is the old rule 207. The new 207 has the sit out period. This was the last year that the old 207 can be used. So in essence, there are 2 forms 207 in use this year.

  7. Way to go SHC girls, play like champions all the time! Way to represent and continue to play harder than the other team and good things will happen girls… GO IRISH!!

  8. Does Marshall have all there guys? I saw that they score 39 points in both their two tournament games this weekend.

    • No, they are missing three important players; and one is a starter. They played this weekend with eight players.

      • That sounds reasonable w/ only eight players but they need a lot more in the event either one gets injured, gets kicked out on technicals, or someone fouls out.

  9. Sat womens’ varsity soccer score:
    SHCP 3 SLV 0

  10. In non-league boys soccer this past Sat., SI def. Terra Nova (Pacifica) 4-0.
