Games of the Day – Galileo vs. Lick-Wilmerding girls basketball: The Lions are two points away from being undefeated and will hit the road to take on the Tigers, which have won three straight games. St. Ignatius vs. Berkeley girls basketball: The Yellowjackets may not have the same talent as they did last season, when they went to the Division I state championship game, but will still be one of the toughest non-league challenges for the Wildcats this season. SI will beat Berkeley handily , since Berkeley lost to Eastside College Prep by
11 and ECP lost to SI by 8. Berkeley is not the same team as last year. This game should not be one
of the games of the day. SI will win by double digits.

    Are you sure?

Davis High scored 118 on Burton? Is that a typo?

    • jbalan says:

It is not. And please use your original name you posted under. It is “Messy.” Next time you try to change your name, your comment will not be approved.

No, not a typo. Davis (near Sacramento) runs what’s called The System, which is the same scheme that the Grinnell (IA) College runs in which three-point shots and crashing the boards are key.

Davis is averaging 91 ppg in going 8-5 thus far. The Blue Devils average 90-plus shots a game, often taking more than 50 three-point shots.

In their first year under The System last season, the team went 14-12 while averaging 85 ppg. The did not make the playoffs.

BTW, I’m totally sorry that I couldn’t find the boys tournament hoops score between Gateway & El Molino (Forestville) today @ Piedmont High.
