Wrestling: Riordan wins dual tournament in Southern California

The Crusaders (8-2) are now ranked sixth in the Central Coast Section and 27th in the state after an impressive performance in Santa Maria on Saturday.

Riordan went 4-0 against Southern California teams in the dual tournament, beating Pioneer Valley, Lompoc, Morrow Bay and Santa Maria, all by 22 points or more. The Crusaders had six individual champions in separate weight classes, led by still-undefeated senior Zac Contreras, who is 14-0 in matches this season. Senior Elijah Davis also went undefeated in the tournament to win his weight class and pinned all five of his opponents. Maarten Deschaumes, Dante Biagini, Juan Valencia and Christian Garcia also won their respective weight classes.
