  1. Nice win from Washington against Balboa. Max Sugaya had a nice 32 points, scoring 21 in the third quarter. Don’t sleep on the kid!!

  2. How is Washington looking like?

  3. The wash boys team is the only team that could stop lincoln from having an undeafeted season.

  4. The SF Christian boys hoops team however def. Summit Prep (Redwood City) on Mon. 1/14 by 2 points @ 61-59.

  5. Is anyone going to challenge Lincoln?

    • Needing a last-second shot to beat Marshall sounds like a challenge to me.

Marshall has to be the top challenger, but I have to say that winning on the road at Marshall, without one of their starting guards Mitchell Lee, was a huge win for the Stangs. Barring any upsets, Marshall/Mission will be on one side of the bracket, while Lincoln/ Lowell or Washington on the other side. Still early in the season but the top teams are definitely Lincoln, Marshall, and Mission.

  6. Good Job SI for spotting 43 on ND!! Good way to practice your shots, and everybody
scored on the team!! Kuddos to SI coaches too , terrific job coaching!!

    • The women’s side of the WCAL is very much like the old GPSL. They should look to replace the bottom tiered teams like ND Belmont, Presentation and Valley Christian by inviting Carondelet, BOD, Marin Catholic. I remember the blowouts when Mercy SF, Mercy Burlingame, and ICA played SI, SHC, & SH Prep. Seeing 80-20 scores wasnt fun.

      • Only just a few years ago, those teams were pretty competitive. Since coach Paye left ND, recruiting hasn’t been the same. Coach Nak at Pres has had a hard time filling Josetta’s spot. VC is in an the same talent pool as Mitty. Isnt this similar to Uncle Franks comment about VC rethinking boys basketball in wcal?

    • Yes RJ, Paige might have played her first game back since her ankle injury that she suffered late Dec. in the second night of the Sand Dune Tourney.
