Basketball: Gragnani Memorial City All-Star Game set for April 16!
We’re partnering with the Bay Area Warriors this year to put on the fifth-annual City All-Star Game on Monday, April 16th at St. Ignatius Prep. Admission will be $5, with the girls game set for 5 p.m. and the boys game set for 7 p.m.
We will be celebrating a great season of basketball with the seniors-only event, but we are also announcing that we have officially been approved by the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Girls Basketball: Mercy’s season ends with overtime loss to Marin Catholic

It took an extra 4 minutes of game time, but Mercy High School’s girls basketball team saw its season end in a 45-44 overtime loss to visiting Marin Catholic in the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation Division IV state playoffs on Wednesday.
Mercy junior guard Christina Haight had a chance to win the game for the sixth-seed Skippers (26-4) with a half-court heave at the buzzer in overtime, but the 11th-seed Wildcats (23-8) held on as Haight’s shot rolled off the rim.

Basketball: State tournament brackets feature 11 San Francisco teams
The CIF released it’s state tournament brackets this afternoon and 11 teams from San Francisco will play in the tournament this week. First-round games are Wednesday and second round games are Saturday. Here are the brackets that feature San Francisco teams.
Section Championship Wrapup: Lowell wins AAA title, Mercy falls in CCS D-IV final
The Lowell High School girls basketball team won its third-consecutive Academic Athletic Association championship with a 47-35 victory over rival Washington on Friday at Kezar Pavilion.
Lowell junior guard Katarina Lum had a game-high 14 points and Kelly Wong and Taylor Sui added nine points apiece off the bench.

Girls Basketball: Mercy takes down Notre Dame to advance to CCS championship

BELMONT — Mercy High School’s girls basketball team may not have played its best offensively against Notre Dame of Belmont in the Central Coast Section Division IV playoffs on Tuesday, but there was no let-up from its defense.
The top-seeded Skippers forced 20 turnovers and allowed the Tigers to shoot just 26 percent from the floor in a 49-30 road win over the defending section champions.

Games of the day – Galileo vs. Washington girls basketball: The Lions upset the Eagles in their lone regular-season meeting, a 56-55 thriller that was sealed by a timeless free throw from Galileo sophomore guard Sarah Lim. Mercy vs. Notre Dame-Belmont girls basketball: Despite holding the top seed in the Division IV CCS playoffs, the Skippers have to play on the fourth-seeded Tigers’ home court.
