Boys Lacrosse: St. Ignatius’ undefeated season ends at the hands of Torrey Pines

OJAI – The final two minutes of the St. Ignatius boys lacrosse team’s game against Torrey Pines of San Diego were a microcosm for the entire fourth quarter.
Trailing by a goal, the Wildcats had possession for the final 1:51, but couldn’t get a shot on net, sealing a 10-9 Torrey Pines win on Saturday at Thacher School.

Game of the day – St. Ignatius vs. Torrey Pines boys lacrosse: Midway through the regular season, this matchup appeared to essentially be a state championship game, but lost a little luster when Torrey Pines dropped a game to San Diego rival La Costa Canyon on April 6. It will still likely be the best competition the Wildcats have faced this season, and an overtime loss last year has had SI looking forward to this game since. Boys Lacrosse: Sacred Heart Cathedral comes back late, but falls to St. Francis in OT

For a first-year varsity program, the Sacred Heart Cathedral boys lacrosse team has had its fair share of heartbreaking losses.
The Irish fell 11-10 in overtime to St. Francis of Mountain View in West Catholic Athletic League play on Wednesday at Crocker Amazon Playground. It is Sacred Heart’s third overtime loss of the season.
