Boys Basketball: Gateway takes control of BCL Central with win over Bay
By Jeremy Balan
The Bay boys basketball team largely accomplished its main objective on Tuesday against Gateway by limiting the Gators’ standout frontcourt with a stingy 2-3 zone, but the Breakers couldn’t limit it on defense.
The Gators held Bay to 26 percent shooting from the floor, and combined with 11 blocks, limited the Breakers to a season-low point total in their 50-34 Bay Counties League Central win at Letterman Gym.
Girls Basketball: Bay’s shooting woes too much to overcome in loss to San Domenico

The Bay girls basketball team forced visiting San Domenico into 27 turnovers on Friday at Letterman Gym, but shot just 14 percent from the field and only scored 10 points in the first half of its 53-24 Bay Counties League Central loss.
Boys Basketball: Bay pulls away late to best Leadership

By Zack Farmer
The Bay School girls volleyball team wasted little time punching its ticket to the Bay Counties League Central championship game on Thursday at Letterman Gym.

Boys Soccer: University takes Marin Academy to OT, but falls in BCL West title game
By Matthew Snyder
For most of Friday night’s Bay Counties League West boys soccer championship at Kimbell Playground, University High School senior goalkeeper Jack Wilson got the better of Marin Academy’s standout attacking midfielder Eloi Vasquez.
Vasquez tested Wilson with three shots spread out during a game that went to two overtimes. Each time, Wilson, who began the season as a forward before being shifted to goalkeeper, responded with a brilliant save.
But his fourth attempt proved to be the difference in the Wildcats’ 2-1 win.

Boys Soccer: Leon strikes in overtime to send Drew to BCL Central title game
By Matthew Snyder
Drew School head boys soccer coach Daniel Philpot needed a few moments to collect himself before his post-game interview on Tuesday.
Given what he’d just witnessed, you couldn’t really blame him.
Drew junior forward Richard Leon scored two all-important goals – the first just minutes before the end of regulation to force overtime, the other in the second period of sudden-death overtime – to power the Dragons to a 2-1 victory over Bay School in the Bay Counties League Central semifinals at the Crocker Amazon Soccer Fields.

Boys Soccer: Drew breaks through against Leadership in second half
By Jeremy Balan
The Drew School boys soccer team’s offensive strategy against Leadership on Thursday was pretty obvious.
With Leadership’s back line aggressively playing up near midfield, the Dragons found success with long balls to speedy forward Richard Leon, but the junior struggled to get the ball in the net.
After five breakaway opportunities that fell short, Leon finally connected in the 45th minute of the Dragons’ 2-0 Bay Counties League Central win at the Crocker Amazon Soccer Fields.
