Lick has an opportunity to move into a first-place tie with the Red Devils with a win. Lowell vs. Washington girls basketball: The girls version of the Battle of the Birds is the marquee matchup at Kezar Pavilion tonight, featuring the only two undefeated AAA squads in a championship rematch. St. Ignatius vs. Mitty girls basketball: The Wildcats fell on the road to the Monarchs to open the WCAL season, but will look to avenge their only league loss tonight at Drucker Court. Sacred Heart Cathedral vs. St. Ignatius boys basketball: Again the Irish will be prohibitive favorites, but the memory of last year’s game will be fresh in the memory of all who watched. Games of the day – Lowell vs. Mission boys soccer: Can anyone beat the Cardinals? If anyone can, it’s the Bears (4-1-1), who were the last AAA team to beat Lowell (6-0), all the way back in November of 2009. Lowell vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral girls volleyball: The Cardinals are prepping for the AAA season, which begins on Friday and will get quite a test against the Irish (6-0), who have dropped only two games in six non-league matches. Games of the day – Washington vs. Balboa baseball: An undefeated league season and the mythical “Triple Crown” are on the table for the Eagles, but Balboa comes in off its strongest game on the season and will look to earn its first title since 1992. International vs. Bay girls soccer: The Jaguars have dominated the BCL Central in the past two seasons, but should not take the Breakers lightly. After losing both regular season games handily last year, Bay gave International everything they could handle the championship game. Lincoln vs. Lowell softball: Lowell and Washington have been well above the rest of the AAA this season, but Lincoln opened up the playoffs with a bang, scoring 32 runs in the first round against Wallenberg.
