With a 4-0 win over second-seeded Bay School on Thursday night at Kezar Stadium, top-seeded International won the Bay Counties League Central girls soccer championship for the third year in a row.

By Zack Farmer

Softball: Lowell does just enough to edge Washington in AAA championship
By Jeremy Balan
A six-run second inning gave the Lowell High School softball team an early lead over rival Washington in the Academic Athletic Association championship game on Tuesday in front of a standing-room-only crowd at San Francisco State University.
But when the Eagles got back in the game, Lowell junior first baseman Majenta Strongheart provided some much-needed breathing room that proved to be the difference in the Cardinals’ 8-7 win to clinch their second consecutive AAA title.
Baseball: Washington uses 7-run third to secure second straight AAA title over Balboa
By Jeremy Balan
You likely won’t find Washington High School head baseball coach Rob Fung in a more emotional state than where he was on Saturday, standing in the middle of the infield at AT&T Park.
Despite a largely anticlimactic finish to the Eagles’ 10-0 mercy-rule win over Balboa to clinch their second straight Academic Athletic Association championship, Fung stood on the infield grass watching his team run around the outfield with the championship trophy, silently taking it all in

Baseball: Balboa takes out Lowell again in AAA semifinals behind Arnold’s shutout
By Jeremy Balan On a scorecard, Balboa High School senior Alex Arnold’s groundout to second base in the second inning of the Academic Athletic Association baseball semifinals looks routine, but it’s the kind of groundout that makes coaches gush. It was also the difference in Balboa’s 1-0 upset win over Lowell on Thursday at Big [...]
