Girls Soccer: Undermanned St. Ignatius surrenders early lead to Presentation

By Matthew Snyder

Granted a penalty kick in the 12th minute of Saturday’s West Catholic Athletic League home match against Presentation, junior midfielder Lindsay Bettinger coolly slotted her shot in the net to give the St. Ignatius girls soccer team an early 1-0 lead.

But the goal galvanized Presentation, which is currently tied for second place with St. Francis in the WCAL standings, and the Panthers poured in three sensational individual goals to power a 3-1 comeback win and avoid an upset against the seventh-place Wildcats.

Girls Volleyball: Sacred Heart Cathedral sweeps Presentation to advance to WCAL final

By Jeremy Balan

Visiting Presentation High School may have been missing its two best players to injuries in the West Catholic Athletic League semifinals on Wednesday , but at this point in the season, the context of any win doesn’t matter all that much to the Sacred Heart Cathedral girls volleyball team.

What does matter is results, and with a 25-12, 25-11, 28-26 win over Presentation, the Irish now have a chance to win their first WCAL girls volleyball title in school history.
