Games of the day – Mission vs. Lincoln football: The Bears will look to bounce back from a loss to first-place Washington last week, but a Lincoln win would put the Mustangs into a second-place tie with Mission, with a leg up in a potential tie-breaker. Sacred Heart Cathedral vs. Serra football: The Irish are reeling after a blowout loss on the road against Valley Christian, but won’t get a reprieve against Serra’s standout running game, although the Padres are coming off a loss to first-place Bellarmine last week. University vs. Marin Academy girls volleyball: This rivalry has gone back and forth in recent years. The Wildcats took the BCL West title game last season, but the Red Devils got revenge in the North Coast Section playoffs. Football Game of the Week: Friday night lights in the Sunset
By Jeremy Balan
Outside of the City’s center stage at Kezar Stadium, the presence of Friday night lights in San Francisco is a foreign idea.
That will change this week, when St. Ignatius hosts its second night game in school history against West Catholic Athletic League cross-town rival Riordan.

Game of the day – Lowell vs. SFI boys soccer: The established power against the up-and-comer. The Cardinals (4-0) are one of three remaining undefeated AAA teams, but the Huskies (2-1-1) have been impressive in their first season, and a win over Lowell would make a substantial statement. Games of the day – University vs. Redwood girls soccer: Despite their No. 1 ranking, University may not be the favorite in this NCS matchup. In the first game of the season, the Red Devils lost to Redwood 1-0, but have only lost one game since. Since their last loss to Urban, the Red Devils have rattled off 12 consecutive victories. International vs. Hoopa Valley baseball: The sixth-seeded Jaguars will face a bit of the unknown in Hoopa Valley, which went 14-9 and finished second in the Humbolt-Del Norte League’s Little 4 Division. International last played Hoopa Valley in 2008, when they defeated the Warriors 6-4 in the North Coast Section playoffs. The Warriors will make make a nearly 350-mile trip from Hoopa, which includes a six-hour bus ride.
