Football: McFarland eligible to play after transfer from Riordan to Mission

The football game between Mission and Riordan scheduled for next season just got considerably more intriguing.
Running back Armani McFarland, who led the Crusaders in rushing yardage and touchdowns last season, and figured to be one of the WCAL’s top returning players next season, has transferred to Mission High School and has been cleared to play for the Bears.

Games of the day – Convent vs. University girls basketball: The teams are locked into the top two spots for the BCL West playoffs, but the Cubs are undefeated in league play and the Red Devils need a win if they want a share of the regular-season league title. Boys Basketball: Turnovers haunt Riordan in home loss to Serra

So often in so many sports, turnovers and errors are a recipe for disaster.
Archbishop Riordan High School’s boys basketball team outrebounded visiting Serra 32-20 and shot better from the field, but turned the ball over 20 times in a 54-43 West Catholic Athletic League loss on Wednesday.

Football: Riordan schedules Lincoln and Mission for next two seasons

With the fall season still over seven months away, word has broken of a pair of early treats for City high school football fans.
Archbishop Riordan High School has scheduled Lincoln and Mission for non-league games in the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Boys Basketball: Riordan’s epic cold streak too much to overcome against St. Ignatius

That’s how many points Archbishop Riordan High School’s boys basketball team scored in the second quarter on the road against St. Ignatius.
The Crusaders were scoreless over 12 minutes of game time spanning the first, second and third quarters in a 48-43 St. Ignatius win in West Catholic Athletic League play on Wednesday.

St. Ignatius vs. Riordan boys basketball: The Wildcats have dropped six straight WCAL games, but will look to get back on the winning track against the Crusaders, who they beat 40-27 to open league play.
