Softball: Costly Urban errors too much to overcome in NCS loss to Redwood Christian

In high school softball, an error or two can so often lead to misfortune.
Unfortunately for Urban School, two fielding errors and a bloop single led to a four-run fifth inning for Redwood Christian and and 7-3 loss for the Blues in the second round of the North Coast Section Division V playoffs on Friday at Lang Field.
Softball: Ong’s walk-off pushes Urban to BCL West title win over Marin Academy

Seasoned seniors are supposed to get the big hits in important games and Elise Ong played that role for the Urban School softball team on Thursday at Lang Field.
The Blues rallied from a 6-2 deficit, capped by a bases-loaded, walk-off single from Ong in the eighth inning to beat Marin Academy 7-6 in the Bay Counties League West championship game.

Softball: Lowell does just enough to edge Washington in AAA championship

A six-run second inning gave the Lowell High School softball team an early lead over rival Washington in the Academic Athletic Association championship game on Tuesday in front of a standing-room-only crowd at San Francisco State University.
But when the Eagles got back in the game, Lowell junior first baseman Majenta Strongheart provided some much-needed breathing room that proved to be the difference in the Cardinals’ 8-7 win to clinch their second consecutive AAA title.
Softball: Lowell moves into first-place tie with Washington with wild win

As crazy as the events and linescore of the final regular-season meeting between Academic Athletic Association softball powers Lowell and Washington were, only one fact really mattered.
The Cardinals evened the score.
After dropping their first meeting 13-3, Lowell responded with a 11-9 win over Washington on Thursday at Rossi Recreation Center.
Softball: Washington routs defending champ Lowell in first AAA meeting

Lowell High School’s mercy-rule blowout of rival Washington in the Academic Athletic Association championship softball game last season may be a distant memory for some, but it was fresh in the Eagles’ minds on Monday.
Washington doled out its own brand of punishment in the teams’ first meeting of the season, collecting 12 hits in a 13-3 rout of the defending AAA champs at West Sunset Playground.
